Build your own wardrobe
Wearing clothes that really fit when exercising makes such a difference! Comfort and confidence are so important when you want to focus on enjoying yourself and working on that perfect form. There are great brands out there, but we’re all different and if you don’t happen to fit into one size band at all measurement points the fit won’t be as ideal as you might like.
In my case, my biggest issue with shop bought sportswear is having big boobs. However, I’ve also found that making my own bottoms means I can cater for having narrow hips compared to my waist measurement, a slightly flatter bum than the brands design for and a delightful tendency to get camel toe from shop bought leggings! Relatively minor adjustments to patterns can make a big difference to all of these fit elements.
Greenstyle Creations is my go to pattern company for activewear and I have been part of the testing groups for a couple of their patterns. They are great for having a go yourself and work for a huge range of shapes and sizes. I would be happy to make you something from their collection or walk you through making something yourself.
I love sewing and sewing for others is really rewarding. If you’re local* and would like me to make you anything have a look at the options below and if you’d like anything else just get in touch! I also love a pattern mashup (This dress is a mashup of the Lacy tank and the Lille Maxi: Dress)
The options listed are all Greenstyle patterns, which I have experience of sizing for different people, but while I’m a huge GS fan there are other designers and some great patterns out there so this is just a guide.
*This is because I’m a hobbyist and like to meet the people I make for rather than just work from measurements 🙂
